Drew Scott’s New Photo With Son Parker Proves Parents Will Do Anything for a Laugh

The end of April is a busy time for the Phan-Scott family! Linda Phan celebrated her birthday on April 22, and Drew Scott (and his twin brother Jonathan!) celebrated his birthday on April 28. So it’s no wonder Phan began her sweet Instagram tribute to her husband by saying, “birthday season continues!”

“Happy birthday to my fave ❤️ kind, curious and caring ☀️ what I love most is that you’re this way when no one is looking ❤️,” she said of the famed HGTV star.

The heartwarming caption was aside a carousel of photos of the happy couple and Scott playing with their sweet 2-year-old son Parker. In the last photo, Scott looks down at his son with an expectant look on his face while he wears socks on his ears. Yes, you read that right. Because parents will do anything — including putting blue tube socks around their ears — to try and get a laugh (or even a smile!) out of their kid.

If you keep up with the family of three (soon to be four!), you know Scott works overtime to make Parker laugh. Last November, he competed with his wife to see who could get the most giggles while juggling oranges. And in August, he proved that the best way to make his son crack up is to go outside and keep walking past the window, doing silly things each time he passed by. The giggles were endless!

“If only the rest of the world found me this entertaining,” Scott captioned the video.

And a month earlier, Scott was already starting with the dad jokes.

“When does a dad joke become a dad joke?” Scott asked his little guy. “When it’s a-parent.”

Parker was not impressed with the string of terrible jokes (one of which was actually “tear-ible” because it was about paper), but he was also only 1 at the time. Maybe this summer Scott will have a better shot. Or, when in doubt, he can just reach for the tube socks. Because while dad jokes are a recipe for an eye roll, silly clothing choices are sure to make the little guy at least crack a smile.
