LAFAYETTE, Ind. − United Way of Greater Lafayette's campaign to raise $5 million for the community continues with the help of Drew Brees, former New Orleans Saints and Purdue University quarterback.

Help from the Brees family

Brees and his wife, Brittany, have been known to provide help to good causes. In 2005 during Hurricane Katrina, the Brees family provided help to the city of New Orleans.

Now, in an effort to boost awareness of this year's campaign, Brees has recorded a 45-second video asking those who can to support UWGL.

"Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need has never been greater and the challenges to gather adequate funding are just as great," a release from UWGL said. "Brees urged the community to donate to help with mental health services, addiction, housing challenges, and so many other causes and initiatives that United Way supports."
