Anyone who’s ever had to clean their stuff out of their parents’ home knows the feeling — you venture into a musty attic or dank basement, open a box, and discover long-forgotten artifacts from your past. Drew Barrymore’s, we’ll admit, are of more general interest than our own, so we’re glad that she’s chosen to share some of her recently unearthed — some decades-old — personal photos with all of us via a series of Instagram posts.
While rummaging through some of her many old boxes on “old storage unit day,” the actress (and producer and director) stumbled upon a collection of old snapshots from her days as a child star in Hollywood. The best of the bunch is a photo of her as a pig-tailed little girl alongside E.T., musical legend Quincy Jones, and a young Rashida Jones with her sister, Kidada Jones (Quincy’s daughters):
Then there’s one of her sporting an old-school English outfit, replete with enormous collars.
There’s also a throwback pic from the ‘90s in which she shares a hug and smile with Sharon Stone.
And last but not least, there’s a look at an old second-grade school paper, in which Barrymore declares acting her first love, and says she’s perfectly content with her adolescent life.
One can only imagine how many other amazing photos lurk in Barrymore’s storage-unit crates. You can check out all the photos she uploads on her Instagram page.
