The rom-com stars then shared how a golden popcorn statuette led to their "real-life meet-cute."

The Anyone but You promotional train has pulled into the station of Hollywood's favorite kooky aunt, Drew Barrymore.

While riding in the talk-show host's Drewber — which is a thing — the rom-com's stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell chatted about turning down Tom Cruise, bonded over Taylor Swift, and essentially rehearsed for their possible MTV Movie & TV Awards win for the movie.

"By the way, I just wanted to present you with something because I know this is already coming," Barrymore said, hauling out a box from the backseat of her Drewber during their interview for Friday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. "So maybe it's like a practice run."

Yanking the golden popcorn statuette out of its box — to Powell's enthusiastic yelp and Sweeney's giggly gasp — Barrymore continued, "I'm telling you, this is gonna happen."

Upon close inspection, the award seems to be for being the "Greatest of All Time," which probably isn't an MTV category. But Powell still took the opportunity to assault Barrymore with cuteness. Meet-cuteness.

"This is our real-life meet-cute," he said, turning to the daytime host and rom-com vet and abruptly asking, "Do you know this?"

The look on Barrymore's face is one of shock turned to sheer delight: a real-life meet-cute?! Just breathe, Josie!

Anyway, it turns out that Powell first met Sweeney when he and his Top Gun: Maverick costar Jay Ellis presented her, along with an absent Alexa Demie, the Best Fight award at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards for their epic Euphoria brawl.

"I handed Sydney the golden popcorn, she looked at me like this, and she cast me in a rom-com," Powell recalled. "And the rest is history."

Instagram-nudity-policy-violating history. A history we can all get behind.
