In the midst of being an actress, talk-show host, and mom, Drew Barrymore has found room in her home — and heart — for a few critters.

Though the majority of her seven pets are four-legged and furry, including her three cats and 14-year-old dog Douglas, Barrymore, 49, and her two daughters Olive, 11, and Frankie, 10, also have one fish, a bearded dragon named Jeremy and a snake with a very fitting name.

"Would you like to know the snake's name?" Barrymore asks in a recent chat with PEOPLE about her new partnership with Ring and their Ring Pet Portraits campaign.

"Ssss-Cecil," Barrymore hisses, though she admits that the pet "remained nameless" for a while as she got used to being a snake mom.

"Cecil's actually very nice," Barrymore says. "I'm not afraid of snakes at all. I just was like, 'Really, we added a snake into the mix now? This has just gone too far.'"

Cecil came into the family's lives after Olive brought the snake home from school, having won the reptile in a raffle.

"I didn't know she had entered," Barrymore says of the surprise.

While it took some time, Barrymore is now settled into life with her less conventional pets, telling PEOPLE that she's "very obsessed with" their bearded dragon.

"[I] never knew I would have this kind of relationship with a two-foot lizard," she says. "That one I didn't see coming. I'm single, and I'm like, 'Oh, my god. I'm the single animal lady with two kids.' I think I actually wear the badge really proudly."

For the sweet campaign, Barrymore is joined by her pup Douglas, who she tells PEOPLE comes with her to tape The Drew Barrymore Show each day.

"We've always just been hanging hard together," she says of the teenage dog.
