‘Dream Scenario’ trailer: Nicolas Cage is the man of their dreams [Watch]

One of the buzziest titles to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival has a new trailer.

On Tuesday, A24 debuted the first teaser for “Dream Scenario,” a new comedy starring Nicolas Cage that earned the former Best Actor winner some of his best reviews in recent memory.

Cage stars as a man named Paul Matthews in the new film, an average guy who gains global attention after he mysteriously starts appearing in people’s dreams. Here’s the official plot summary from A24:

Hapless family man Paul Matthews (Nicolas Cage) finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams.  But when his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom, in this wickedly entertaining comedy from writer-director Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of Myself) and producer Ari Aster.

In addition to Cage, the film stars Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Gelula, and Dylan Baker. Cage, who won Best Actor for “Leaving Las Vegas” at the 1996 Oscars, was hailed by critics and awards pundits for his “Dream Scenario” performance after the film’s debut earlier this month. Whether he can break into a packed Best Actor race that includes folks like Cillian Murphy, Leonardo DiCaprio, Colman Domingo, Jeffrey Wright, Bradley Cooper, Andrew Scott, and Paul Giamatti remains to be seen.

“Dream Scenario” is out on November 10.
