NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It’s a love story; just say yes to getting married in Castle Gwynn!

Located less than 40 minutes from Nashville, the same castle where Taylor Swift filmed her 2008 music video ‘Love Story,’ will soon be open as a wedding and honeymoon destination.

The owner and creator of Castle Gwynn explained how the castle was built on a true love story, an experience he hopes to share with others.

“It’s a dream come true, and I’ve had so many people share in the dream that have made it happen,” Mike Freeman, owner and mastermind of Castle Gwynn, said.

Freeman and his wife, Jackie Freeman, had their first date at the site where the castle is now.

Years later, in 1988, they married and honeymooned in the castle. Together, they developed their home into a castle. Their love and the castle have not stopped growing since.

“Most women do a construction job on a house, six weeks to a month or two they are out of their mind,” Freeman said. “She has had to live with it for 38 years. Not a lot of women that could put up with that, so she is quite a remarkable person.”

For Swift fans worldwide, the castle is where the music video for her 2008 hit song ‘Love Story’ was filmed, a song that sings about the unconditional love Romeo and Juliet shared.

Since the song was released, fans have proposed to that song during Swift’s concerts, making the castle a full-circle location to tie the knot.

“I had a school day after that, and all the little girls came up to me and said, ‘I want to stand in the same place Taylor stood in,'” Freeman said. “You know, it just stretched the imagination for everybody, and it became magical for everybody.”

“I am just thinking of all the Swifties who have this opportunity now to get married at the castle,” Nick Williams, a Swiftie, said. “And you get engaged during ‘Love Story’ at the concert and then you get married at the ‘Love Story’ castle. What a full circle moment that is! If you are a full Swiftie, that is kind of like your dream deep down.”

During Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, Justin Miller and his partner Nick Williams got engaged to ‘Love Story’. They told News 2 that the song captures how they feel about one another.

Now, that love can be shared at Castle Gwynn.

The wedding venue is still in the works, but will feature a medieval ballroom and dining hall.

“I’ve had so many calls and so many people wanting to have their weddings here,” Freeman said. “I mean, to be able to have a wedding in a castle and then spend the first night here. You know, that has been one of my earliest thoughts with the castle, and we are just now getting it all put together slowly but surely.”

Freeman told News 2 that while he hopes to get the project done and open to the public by the end of the year, there is no official date for opening. He hopes others can tie the knot in a place that means so much to him and his wife.

“Creating it was been my biggest joy and being able to share it with people,” Freeman said.

If you want to visit the castle sooner, you can attend the annual Tennessee Renaissance Festival from May 4-27.
