Drea de Matteo: I Turned to OnlyFans After COVID Vaccine Stance Cost Me Acting Jobs

Emmy-winning The Sopranos alum Drea de Matteo says that one of the reasons she opened an OnlyFans account in late August is because acting opportunities had dried up, due to her stance on workplace COVID vaccine mandates.

“Things have changed in the last three years…,” de Matteo detailed in an interview with Fox News Digital. “I didn’t know [that] all of a sudden … during a time I’m supposed to be relaxing a little bit, that I would have to switch careers and figure new things out because my own industry thinks I’m, you know, a savage.”

With that last word, de Matteo apparently was alluding to how she has been characterized after vocally opposing COVID vaccine mandates, including via social media posts.

“I guess you could say I was a bad girl because I did not follow the rules a couple of years ago,” she said. “I don’t want to be at the mercy of mandates or strike or anything like that ever again” — ergo the pivot to an OnlyFans account, and other new sources of income.

Since the onset of the COVID pandemic, de Matteo has only filmed roles in a few small films, and reprised her role of Sons of Anarchy‘s Wendy in the final season of spinoff Mayans MC.

De Matteo told Fox News that her agent dropped her, and she “almost lost our home” due to the lack of acting work.

“People find that hard to believe that I was never really paid very much money for any of the jobs I’ve done,” de Matteo said. “I’ve worked job to job. And I’ve turned down tons of jobs in the past just to be with my children because their dad’s (musician Shooter Jennings) on the road, and he’s not around as much.”
