A Death on ‘Black-ish’ Reunites Dre With His Old Crew

On Black-ish, Dre was confronted with the surprising loss of a childhood friend, Tony. He got the call while ordering food at a drive-through, so he doubled the order to eat his feelings.

But there was a bright side to the unfortunate circumstances.

With Dre having had the most success among his crew, he was feeling a little guilty, and Rainbow noticed he was being very generous with his old buddies. He wanted her to look at the weird thing on Ronnie’s neck and get the checkbook so Ledarius could cement the patio.

Dre’s savior complex was kicking into full gear: he hooked his buddies up with diapers, new jobs, and removed that gross thing from Ronnie’s neck. But his buddies didn’t seem grateful enough. When they raised a glass to Tony and not him, he blew up — and his friends walked out.

But the guys hashed it out and came to a better understanding for the sake of their renewed friendship.
