Drake To Release ‘Scary Hours 3’ Instrumentals, Challenges Rappers To Bring Their Bars

Drake surprised fans last week by releasing his first deluxe album in 10 years, adding six new songs to his October LP For All The Dogs. The 6 God is now doing something unprecedented in his career, announcing that he will share an instrumental version of the new tracks this Friday (Nov. 24).

The Toronto superstar took to his Instagram story on Tuesday (Nov. 21), writing, “Dropping the instrumentals this week I wanna hear who’s barring up.” The post included a black-and-white version of the Scary Hours 3 cover art featuring two fairies.

The Scary Hours edition of For All The Dogs was produced by popular producers Boi-1da, Vinylz, The Alchemist, Conductor Williams, and Ovrkast, who have laced other rappers with great beats. It will be interesting to see who steps up to the plate and raps over these instrumentals.

Drake handled the majority of rapping on For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition by himself, but he did add another J. Cole track in “Evil Ways.” This marks their second collaboration of the year, following their Billboard chart-topping record “First Person Shooter.” They shared a video for the track last week where they competitively play ping pong, chess, and basketball.

“First Person Shooter” was a major milestone for both rappers; it marked the part-time crooner’s 13th No. 1 hit, matching Michael Jackson’s record on the Billboard Hot 100. As for Cole, it was the first No. 1 of his lengthy career, coming 10 years after they last collaborated on “Jodeci Freestyle.”

The album itself was a huge success. For All The Dogs went No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking Drake’s 13th No. 1 album in his career. The 23-track LP featured Bad Bunny, SZA, Sexyy Red, Teezo Touchdown, Lil Yachty, and more. Listen to For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition below.
