What happened to the “game I love?”

Whenever there is a hip-hop beef, there’s always a possibility that the MCs who are at odds will drop some fire music in the process. Whether it’s a full diss track or just a couple of pointed bars, hip-hop seems to never be short of shade when it comes to men and women in the game—and even sometimes magazines are targets.

Metro posted that message nearly two weeks ago on Dec. 2, and fans seemed to initially find it fishy that someone of his stature would post something like that—especially about Drake, with whom he’s worked closely in the past.

Lest we forget that Metro was also the architect behind the beloved collaborative project from Drake and Future, “What a Time to be Alive.”

But Drake, who is known to pay attention to everything that is said about him, seemingly responded to the popular trap producer during a three-hour livestream with Stake.

When Drake said the “tweet and deleters,” social media commentators felt it feels pretty obvious that he’s talking about Metro. Metro apparently caught wind of his comments and tweeted his own response to the slight a few hours later that seemingly told Drake to “calm down.”

In all honesty, some might agree with Metro’s initial claim about his latest studio album, “Heroes & Villains,” being among the best rap releases a year ago. “Her Loss,” of course was also good in its own right. But why did Metro single out that album in the first place?

Only time will tell in this burgeoning beef.
