Drake has clapped back at Joe Budden for criticizing new album For All The Dogs.

Joe began the war of words during a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast. The former emcee unleashed on Drizzy’s latest effort and demanded that the Canadian “grows up.” He then asserted that Drake needs to start hanging out with people his age to create better music.

“[Drake’s] rapping for the children! I had to look up how old this ni**a was when I finished listening to the album,” he expressed. “You gonna be 37 years old. Get the f**k away from some of these younger ni**as, and stop f**king these 25-year-olds. Why are you still f**king the 25-year-olds? You’re a 37-year-old billionaire.”

As he continued, the Mood Muzik artist began comparing him to his peer, J. Cole. Joe explained that while Cole used to rhyme about “kid sh*t,” things changed when the emcee decided to grow up. “Cole used to rap about kid sh*t, and then he started to grow up. And then the rapping sounded like an adult rapping. I want to hear adult Drake rapping for adult people. That’s my issue with him today,” he said.

Budden also criticized Drake for hanging out with Lil Yachty instead of focusing on the music. One example he gave was Cole and Aubrey’s track, “First Person Shooter.” The New Jersey native explained that the Canadian’s competitive flare wasn’t there when recording with the Dreamville founder. As a result, the “Podfather” asserted that Cole “killed him” on his own song.

Drizzy caught wind of the criticisms and shot back with some points of his own. The “Rich Baby Daddy” entertainer took to social media, where he typed a short story detailing how Budden “failed at music.”

“You left [music] behind to do what you are doing in this clip because this is what actually pays your bills,” Drake typed. “You switched careers cause the things that pop into your brain had you broke living cheque to cheque and the raps you write had 450 men showing up to your shows in dusty Enyce jeans to screw up their face to Mood Muzik 29 and pretend you are the goat. Please, to any artist that’s doing what they feel is right don’t let these opinions affect your mindset after the fact… this guy is the poster child of frustration and surrendering.”

“You retired and we never hung up your jersey. We don’t even remember your number,” he continued. “We know you for doing this…you withdrew from rap not cause you accomplished all you need to it’s cause it wasn’t working for you…I never want anybody [from this] generation to think that the whole ‘everybody’s entitled to their opinion’ is a real thing…this is a man projecting his own self hate and the fact I did and continue to do everything he wanted to do for himself. If you need it put in simpler terms I own a 767…he owns a modest house in the 973 and flies first class on special occasions.”

Budden responded with a simple response, typing, “You’ll grow up sooner or later…Father time is undefeated.”

Drake then doubled down on his shots at Joe in his Instagram Story. Referencing the Golden State Warriors Draymond Green’s comments towards former NBA player Paul Pierce, Drizzy typed, “You thought you was Kobe [Bryant].” He then shot at The Joe Budden Podcast engineer and Budden’s close friend, Parks. Drake pleaded with fans not to listen to “Mark Zuckerberg” regarding “good verses and turnt verses.”

Parks responded with a screenshot of one of Drake’s songs, “Sandra’s Rose.” The track’s song credits reveal that Drake enlisted Parks to work as an engineer and studio personnel.

Drizzy and Joe’s 2016 beef seems to be back in full force.
