Drake Jumped on Twitch to Play ‘Fortnite,’ Quickly Broke Viewing Record
We knew Drake could act and rap, but… play video games? Drake showed he’s a triple threat when he jumped on Twitch last night to play “Fortnite” with pro-gamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins — setting viewing records in the process.
The “God’s Plan” rapper spent more than 45 minutes playing the uber-popular shooting game, and racked up 630,000 concurrent viewers on the streaming platform. That easily surpassed the previous Twitch record of 388,000 for a single-player stream.
Drizzy gamed under the username “TheBoyDuddus,” which was a bit of a downer for “Degrassi” fans hoping he used a “Jimmy Brooks” alias online. He said he’d been playing “Fortnite” for a few months, in between recording his new album. Drake also said he’s recently given up eating meat, while also saying he’s pro-pineapple-on-pizza.

Drake wasn’t the only star gamer on Wednesday night, however. Travis Scott, aka “cactus_jackk92,” and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster jumped in on the action as well. Fans seemed to dig when Drake “revived” Scott, which seems like something a friendly gamer would do.
