Drake’s For All The Dogs has been out for just a few days and, like every release of his, it has caused a whirlwind of discourse. Journalists made their voices heard via their album reviews, which have resulted in his lowest-ever Metacritic score.

Metacritic is a long-running aggregation website that assembles all of the reviews for a piece of content and combines them into one score. For All The Dogs, which was released on Friday morning (Oct. 6), received a 52 based on 10 reviews. The Toronto superstar’s highest-ranked project is his breakthrough 2009 mixtape So Far Gone which received an 81, notably the only project in his catalog with a score higher than 80 via Metacritic.

Some of his recent scores include a 62 for the November 2022 collaborative album Her Loss with 21 Savage, 73 for the June 2022 surprise album Honestly, Nevermind, 60 for the September 2021 album Certified Lover Boy, and a 61 for the May 2020 mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes. For All The Dogs was finally released on Friday after being pushed back from its original release date of Sept. 22. The 23-track album included features from J. Cole, SZA, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Sexyy Red, and more.

Drake preceded his latest LP with the single “Slime You Out” featuring SZA and the next addition to his timestamp series “8AM In Charlotte.” He celebrated the album’s release with the final two shows of the It’s All A Blur tour, which happened to take place in his hometown, Toronto.

The 6 God surprised attendees by bringing out J. Cole, who was said to have been replacing 21 Savage as the Atlanta rapper was unable to cross the border into Canada. However, it was all a setup to end the night in a major way by announcing the “Bank Account” rapper officially gained clearance, performing multiple records from Her Loss together.
