Life comes at you fast. For the past month and a half, DJ Akademiks has been the top source for Drake and any new music he’s been dropping in his already infamous beef with Kendrick Lamar.

If you recall, he premiered “Push Ups” on his livestream and has teased new music coming from the Toronto rapper.

But after being one of the leading voices in Hip-Hop for the last few weeks, his bubble may have just been burst. On Tuesday, Akademiks, born Livingston Allen, was accused of rape, sexual assault and defamation in a lawsuit filed by Fauziya “Ziya” Abashe, according to Rolling Stone.

Abashe claims that she dated Akademiks after meeting online in 2021 and that he contacted her again in July 2022 and asked her to come to his New Jersey home despite not seeing each other for over a year.

More from Rolling Stone:

When Abashe arrived, however, she was met by two men (identified as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2), whom she did not expect to be there. Abashe claims the two men drugged her drink and plied her with alcohol before assaulting and raping her on Allen’s pool deck.

Abashe says the drugs “impacted her memory and caused her to lose consciousness,” according to the suit. She claims she was later woken up at around 4 a.m. (July 17, 2022) in a bedroom by Allen, who was “pulling her hair, prying open her legs, and brutally raping her,” she claims. Abashe accuses Allen of penetrating her anally and vaginally and says she was “begging” him to stop and “crying for most of this assault but losing her ability to move physically.”

Abashe later asked Akademiks for details on what occurred the night she came over. He allegedly simply showed her a trashcan that had condom rappers and also allegedly showed her video of the pool deck assault, according to Rolling Stone.

After speaking with her lawyer, Abashe visited the hospital for a rape kit, which allegedly uncovered traces of Akademiks’ sperm. She also claims that she sat with police for a “recorded wire call” with the internet personality, during which she says that he recounted the incident and admitted to having sex with her.

Despite going to the authorities for a rape kit, she never pressed charges and only decided to revisit the incident after her claims resurfaced at the end of 2023.

She addressed her claims in a series of clips on social media, which Akademiks denied in a lengthy December 2023 video posted to one of his YouTube channels.

According to Rolling Stone, she’s accusing Akademiks of defamation because he said that she voluntarily decided to have an orgy with his friends at his New Jersey home.
