Drake Channels Michael Jackson To Celebrate Tying King Of Pop’s Billboard Hot 100 Record

Drake has had much to celebrate this week with the success of his latest album For All The Dogs. The 36-year-old rapper channeled his inner Michael Jackson after tying the King Of Pop’s record for No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

On Monday (Oct. 16), “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole was officially declared the No. 1 song on the long-running chart. It became the Dreamville rapper’s first-ever No. 1 song and The 6 God’s 13th No. 1. He now only trails The Beatles, Mariah Carey, and Rihanna who have 20, 19, and 14 No. 1 songs, respectively.

The Toronto superstar captured his festive mood in a variety of ways. In two separate Instagram story posts, he shared photos of himself wearing a sparkly glove while enjoying a drink at dinner. He also posted an edited photo of the late Thriller artist wearing an OVO hoodie with the caption “Mooooooooood.” Check out the posts below.

Drake also took the time out to acknowledge that he could’ve already beaten Michael Jackson’s record if not for a questionable lack of credit on Travis Scott’s 2018 hit “Sicko Mode,” writing “Sicko Mode technically makes 14 but they didn’t count my feature so we got work to do.” Still, he is reveling in the current moment where he claims seven of the top ten slots on the Billboard Hot 100.

“IDGAF” ft. Yeat is the No. 2 song, followed by “Virginia Beach” at No. 3, “Calling For You” ft. 21 Savage at No. 5, “Slime You Out” ft. SZA at No. 6, “Daylight” at No. 8,” and “Fear Of Heights” at No. 10. For All The Dogs also went No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 402,000 album-equivalent units in its first week to give the part-time crooner his 13th No. 1 album.

For All The Dogs came out on Oct 6., two weeks later than originally planned. The 23-track LP featured the aforementioned artists along with Bad Bunny, Sexyy Red, Chief Keef, Teezo Touchdown, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Lil Yachty. Listen to For All The Dogs below.
