Drake’s extensive catalog features several major contributions from Atlanta artists. Thus, it came as no surprise that the 36-year-old rapper labeled the city “the most important place in Rap music” this week.

The 6 God’s It’s All A Blur Tour, which coincidentally features an ATL artist in 21 Savage, made its way to the State Farm Arena in The A on Monday evening (Sept. 25). In the midst of delivering his hits to the raucous crowd, The Toronto superstar took the time out to give the city and the artists it has bred their well-deserved flowers.

“Where would any of us be without Atlanta?” he asked. “All the love that you show, all the musicians that you birthed, all the contributions that you give. This is hands down the most important place in rap music. You should be proud of yourselves.”

Drake went on to personalize the message, speaking about the impact that Atlanta and its talents have had on his music career. “All the artists that I’ve done the greatest work with, all the artists that I love, all the artists that inspire me, the majority of them come from right here in Atlanta,” he said. “So y’all make some noise for yourselves tonight. We celebrating you.”

In true Drizzy show fashion, some rappers, athletes, and celebrities were in attendance and he showed them some love as well. “Make some noise for my brother Central Cee killing this sh*t tonight,” he said about his “On The Radar Freestyle” collaborator and part-time tour opener. “Make some noise for my brother Kai Cenat one time in here, you know,” he said about the popular streamer before shouting out one of the city’s own elite athletes, Atlanta Hawks superstar guard Trae Young. “And of course, make some noise for Trae Young in here one time tonight. Real A-Town sh*t, wassup!” Check out clips of his shoutouts below.

Drake’s Atlanta collaborators include but are not limited to Future, Young Thug, Lil Baby, Gunna, 2 Chainz, and 21 Savage. The Her Loss artist has achieved success with many of these artists, as songs like “Way 2 Sexy” with Future and Thugger, “Wait For U” with Future and Tems, and “Jimmy Cooks” with 21 Savage have all reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
