A Billionsaire is planning a return to Downton Abbey.

Paul Giamatti will reprise his role of Harold Levinson in Downton Abbey‘s new movie, Focus Features and Carnival Films announced Monday. The casting announcement coincided with an official greenlighting of the third film based on the period drama.

Giamatti, whose run on Billions ended with the series finale in October 2023, played Harold — aka Cora Grantham’s brother — in the original series.

Other new additions to the third Downton flick include Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck), Alessandro Nivola (Doll & Em, The Many Saints of Newark), Simon Russell Beale (Penny Dreadful) and Arty Froushan (Carnival Row).

The returning cast includes: Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera and Douglas Reith return for the third film. Dominic West (The Affair) also will be back as Guy Dexter, a character introduced in Downton Abbey: A New Era.

In March, Downton‘s Imelda Staunton first hinted that there’d be a third film in Julian Fellowes’ franchise. She also called it the “final” cinematic installment; the release does not indicate that the movie will be the last.

Downton Abbey: A New Era was released in 2022. It followed the Crawleys and their staff as they welcomed a movie crew to Downton for the filming of a new silent film, while other members of the family embarked on a grand adventure to a villa in the south of France to uncover a mystery about the Dowager Countess.
