Double standard? Trump's 'grab 'em by the p****' controversy had same outcome as Samantha Bee's C-word
As expected, President Donald Trump weighed in on Full Frontal host Samantha Bee calling his daughter Ivanka Trump the C-word during her show Wednesday night. He echoed what much of the conservative media said about the incident, using exactly the same phrase: “double standard.”
“Why aren’t they firing no talent Samantha Bee for the horrible language used on her low ratings show?” Trump tweeted Friday morning. “A total double standard but that’s O.K., we are Winning, and will be doing so for a long time to come!”
Even though Trump did not specifically mention Roseanne Barr in that tweet, who was fired by ABC this week after using a racial slur on Twitter, the media — on both sides of the aisle — quickly compared the two scenarios. Many again cried “double standard,” saying Barr was fired and Bee kept her job because the Barr is an outspoken Trump supporter.
But in this video, we examine how some media voices debunked Trump’s double-standard claim and point out that Bee and Trump were treated very similarly after using nasty words.
