The Double Official Teaser Trailer Shows Wu Jinyan’s Search for Justice

The upcoming historical romance C-drama The Double will premiere soon. It features Wu Jinyan, Wang Xingyue, and Chen Xinhai in the lead roles. The drama tells the story of the daughter of a well-off family who changes her identity to fight against injustice. Xue Li (Wu Jinyan) is the daughter of a wealthy merchant. She has never experienced poverty in her life. But in a complicated turn of events, her family loses everything, leaving her penniless.

It is Jiang Ruo Yao (Liu Xiening), the daughter of the Minister of Rites, who comes to her aid and becomes her benefactress. Not only Ruo Yao, but Xiao Heng (Wang Xingyue), the Duke of Suguo, also offers her guidance and helps her overcome hurdles. With their help, Xue Li takes on the disguise of Xue Fang Fei and returns to the capital. She dedicates her life to fighting for justice.

The Double: Cast, synopsis & more

At the recently held 2024 Spring Conference, Youku released the first official preview of the upcoming drama. The teaser shows an unfair society where the innocent suffer and those who are in the wrong live freely without any shame. Xue Li is deceived by her ruthless relatives, who stab her in the back and also go as far as burying her alive.

But as fate may have it, she makes a return. She knows that she can not rely on anyone but herself. She makes a promise to herself that she will keep on living for herself and punish the guilty.

Apart from the lead actors, The Double will also feature Liang Yongqi, Chen Chiao En, Su Ke, Vivien Li, Zhang Yuqi, Yang Chaoyue, He Hong Shan, Li Xin Ze, Gala Zhang, and others in pivotal roles. Bai Yun Mo, Lu Hao Ji Ji, and Ma Shi Ge are the directors of the drama. It is an adaptation of Qian Shan Cha Ke’s web novel, “Marriage of the Di Daughter.”

All 40 episodes of The Double will soon be available for streaming on Youku.
