Doris Roberts, 'Everybody Loves Raymond' Actress, Dead at 90

Doris Roberts, best known for playing Raymond’s meddling mother on Everybody Loved Raymond, has sadly passed away at the age of 90.

Roberts earned four Emmy Awards for the role of the caring matriarch during the show’s nine seasons.

Her first Emmy win was for her 1982 guest appearance on St. Elsewhere. She’s also known for roles on such TV series as Soap, Remington Steele, Dream On, The Middle, and more recently, Melissa & Joey. She appeared in films including National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, The Heartbreak Kid, and Grandma’s Boy.

She was last seen on the small screen in a Doritos ad, which aired during this year’s Super Bowl.

She is survived by her only son, Michael Cannata Jr., and three grandchildren.
