"New year! New lips! New hair! Same bitch!" she wrote in the caption.

Most people commented about how much they love the new look, but one person sparked some controversy when she wrote, "Thank you for showing the younger generation that natural is beautiful."

To which one person replied, "this isn't natural. She still has extensions in, not natural. Is getting different fillers, again not natural and this pic is heavily filtered. Also not natural. So please tell me, how is this showing anyone this is natural?"

Someone else jumped in to defend Biermann.

"She feels beautiful in her own skin, with fillers or without fillers, she is still finding her way. I’m old school, the pressures this younger generation has to deal with on the regular is totally different then the world I grew up in.....so if @briellebiermann chooses to wear extensions, fillers, Botox or whatever, and share her journey with the public, the last thing we should do is have a negative response to HER decisions. Let’s make 2020 the year we support women, and our right to choose!"

Eventually, Biermann herself chimed in. "natural is beautiful. Fillers are beautiful. Whatever makes someone HAPPY IS BEAUTIFUL!" she wrote.

In February of last year, she talked to PEOPLE about her lips and why she wanted to get fillers.

"All my friends had beautiful, full lips," she said. "Like my best friend Elizabeth. I was like, you b—, I want lips that look like yours. ... Since I was 14 I was like, I have to have my lips done right when I turn 18. If I could've done it sooner I would've and I don't regret it. I don't think I've gone overboard like people claim."
