Lots of music dates are coming up, as bands hurry to tour before the real winter season arrives, and also before the post-holidays lull. But right now, practically every night of the week has multiple music options to consider.

A blues bonanza in Stoughton

They are terming it just a Music Fest, but the event at Stoughton's Ahavath Torah Congregation on Saturday night is really a marvelous night of underrated New England blues groups that could hold their own with any national acts. The triple-header begins at 6 p.m. and features the excellent veteran band Boston Baked Blues, the South Shore's popular rock 'n' blues act Soul Box, and Plymouth's blazing modern blues group The Delta Generators.  If you want to hit one blues concert this year, this is the one to target, and we're guessing it comes with free parking and much less hassle than a trip to the city. (1179 Central St., Stoughton, tickets $36 advance, $40 at door, refreshments available for purchase. Check hausman-memorial-speaker-series.ticketleap.com/atc2023musicfest/)

Buskin & Batteau still touring

One of the spotlight folk music events this week is the Buskin & Batteau concerts at Club Passim in Cambridge on Saturday night. (Two shows: 5 and 8 p.m., 47 Palmer St., Harvard Square, Shanna in a Dress opens both shows, tickets are $35, check clubpassim.org or call 617-492-7679 for more information). The duo of David Buskin and Robin Batteau has been delighting folk audiences for five decades, even despite a stretch in the 1980s when they dedicated themselves to commercial jingle work ("The Heartbeat of America" is their best-known jingle). Now Buskin, 80, is battling Parkinson's Disease and myasthenia gravis, but still sounding great, while Batteau, 75, has survived a heart attack and cancer, but still brings it every night. Buskin's daughter Sophie is expected to provide extra vocal harmonies to their already exquisite sounds.

Pussy Riot in Boston (sort of)

The Paradise Rock Club in Boston hosts Pussy Riot on Tuesday night, but it is not billed as a concert per se. Marie Alyoklina from the vaunted Russian rock rebels will be on hand with producer Alexander Cheparukhin, for a night of chronicling the band's history, based on Alyoklina's recent memoir, and with commentary on current events as well. It sounds like more of a theater event than a concert, although the rock band Thick opens, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $29.50 available through crossroadspresents.com
