2. Have a Pinecrest Christmas

Partake in traditions from Christmas past at Pinecrest Historical Village, 924 Pinecrest Road.

Pinecrest Christmas will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 8 and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Manitowoc County Historical Society, 924 Pinecrest Road.

The “residents” of the village are busy preparing for the holidays and welcome visitors into their decorated homes. There will also be a lantern-guided walk and groups performing in the Niles Church.

3. Attend ‘Sparkle! The History of Aluminum Christmas Trees’

Be dazzled by the Manitowoc Public Library’s large display of Evergleams as you hear what makes these aluminum Christmas trees so rare and special to our area.

The history will be explained by members of MAKI, the organization that coordinates Evergleams on Eighth.

The in-person event is at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at the library, 707 Quay St. You can catch the virtual presentation at www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary at 6 p.m. Dec. 14, too.

4. Dust off your ugly Christmas sweater

Join others in hideous seasonal garb as your sip refreshing brews at PetSkull Brewing’s third annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 9.

There will be live music from Meet the Seavers and first- to third-place winners will receive PetSkull Brewing gift certificates.

5. Dive deeper at the Nook & Cranny Tour

Whether you’ve never been inside the USS Cobia or have taken a regular tour before, you’ll be amazed at the behind-the-scenes Nook & Cranny Tour the Wisconsin Maritime Museum offers several times per year.

See parts of the submarine that are not generally open to the public and hear stories from when the sub was in service.

This tour is at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 10 and is suitable for ages 12 and older because of the length of the tour. Purchase tickets at https://bit.ly/3wRsCkS. Wisconsin Maritime Museum is at 75 Maritime Drive.
