Things didn’t go exactly as planned for Donald Trump on his first day of his $250 million fraud civil suit in New York. He didn’t seem pleased that he is in this situation to begin with and doubled down on his 2024 “election interference” claims to distract his voter base from the real issues at hand.

Appearing impatient and in a foul mood, Donald Trump addressed the press after his first day in the courtroom. “Banks loved our business, they loved our deals, they weren’t defrauded,” he claimed. “They made a lot of money, and they considered me a very good client.” It was a long day for the former president, who even took the time during his lunch break to call presiding Judge Arthur Engoron a “Trump-hater” and a “rogue judge” while complaining that he was in the courtroom when there were people “being murdered right outside in the street.” However, he failed to note the difference between his civil trial and a criminal case reserved for a murderer.

Judge Engoron has already ruled that Donald Trump and sons Donald Jr. and Eric are liable for business fraud, and that isn’t sitting well with him. “We’re going to be here for months with a judge that already made up his mind. It’s ridiculous,” he said. “This is a judge that should be disbarred. This is a judge that should be out of office.” The real issue is for Donald Trump is how this will affect his real estate holdings, including Trump Tower.

He intentionally attended this first day in court to “watch this witch hunt” even though he believes it’s “a horrible situation for our country.” He added, “I’ve been sitting in a courthouse all day long instead of being in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina or a lot of other places I could be at.” While Donald Trump prefers to be out on the campaign trail, his indictment schedule is about to get extremely complicated once his other trials begin.
