"Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received to many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be 'punch-drunk,'" Trump said in the tweet. "I guess he doesn't realize the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country. Wake up Punchy!"

It's funny to see Trump mocking a tough guy for putting himself in physical harm when the president considers himself a tough guy despite spending his entire life avoiding any sort of physical activity. Can you imagine Trump taking a punch, let alone throwing one?

His tweet comes in response to De Niro's speech at the Tony Awards on Sunday, in which the Oscar winner simply said "fuck Trump" to a room of cheering people.

Though Trump just finished praising a brutal dictator in a very high-profile photo opp with Kim Jong un, he seems more concerned with the opinions of people more successful and highly regarded than himself. Trump is a man who gets all information and self-worth from the television. When Robert De Niro, a man possibly more famous than Trump, bashes him on TV, it initiates peak Trump rage.

Though it often seems like a moot point to champion celebrities to talk shit about the president, it does in fact get to Trump. It worked for Meryl Streep, and it'll keep working.
