Donald Trump Sacks National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster; FNC Analyst John Bolton To Replace

Updated with more details: Another TV personality has been added to President Donald Trump’s entourage.

Exactly six days after White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders ordered reporters not to look at H.R. McMaster in the Trump Tumbril, the president tweeted Thursday afternoon that McMaster, Trump’s National Security Adviser No. 2, is out and will be replaced by Fox News analyst John Bolton.

Hopefully, you had your money on FNC getting the first crack at a Bolton sit down to discuss his appointment:

TV News pundits had expected McMaster to be canned and Bolton to replace him, and yet, outside FNC they were taken by surprise, what with it not being Friday – aka Donald Trump’s Take Out The Trash Day.

Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the UN, is a bit of an unusual pick, having advocated long and loud for

the Iraq War, which Trump savaged during his campaign. On the other hand, Bolton is a Fox News regular and Trump obviously liked what he saw.

McMaster was Trump’s second National Security Adviser; Michael Flynn lasted only a few weeks before being fired.

Announcement came hours after Rex Tillerson gave his farewell address as Secretary of State, taking shots at Trump as he exited the stage. Tillerson, who’d also been fired by Twitter, told his staff/Trump that personal integrity was their most valuable commodity and once lost never regained. He also noted Washington is a really mean-spirited place.

Trump sacked McMaster six days after Sanders told reporters not to pay any mind to McMaster in the tumbril.

“We don’t have any personnel changes at this time,” she insisted during her White House briefing, just days after Trump gave Tillerson the hook.

“You guys would like us to be focused on” the White House cabinet chaos, she had sniffed, but National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, who had beeen reported by WaPo to be next on the chopping block, is focused on “big issues,” she insisted.

McMaster was considered a goner since February, when he suicidally cited “incontrovertable” proof Russia meddled in the presidential election

Trump vented via Twitter – the second Station of the Cross in the road to getting the hook in Trumpland – saying:

“General McMaster forgot to say that the results of the 2016 election were not impacted or changed by the Russians and that the only Collusion was between Russia and Crooked H, the DNC, and the Dems. Remember the Dirty Dossier, Uranium, Speeches, Emails and the Podesta Company!”

Here is Trump’s Thursday tweet announcing he’s dumped McMaster and swapped him out for Bolton:
