Following his resignation, Donald Trump is permanently banned from future re-admission to SAG-AFTRA.

The former president resigned from the actors' guild on Feb. 4 after facing expulsion from the group for inciting the Capitol riots Jan. 6. On Sunday, SAG-AFTRA National Board passed a resolution "preemptively denying any potential re-admission applications by former member Donald J. Trump."

"It is a resounding statement that threatening or inciting harm against fellow members will not be tolerated," SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris said in a press release.

"Preventing Donald Trump from ever rejoining SAG-AFTRA is more than a symbolic step. It is a resounding statement that threatening or inciting harm against fellow members will not be tolerated. An attack against one is an attack against all."

The move comes less than a week after Trump wrote a resignation letter addressed to Carteris citing the organization has done "nothing" for him. The actors' guild provided a copy to news outlets.

"I write to you today regarding the so-called Disciplinary Committee hearing aimed at revoking my union membership. Who cares!" Trump begins his letter, alluding to the SAG-AFTRA board meeting to discuss revoking his membership card.

He continued: "While I’m not familiar with your work, I’m very proud of my work on movies such as Home Alone 2, Zoolander and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; and television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saturday Night Live, and of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, The Apprentice – to name just a few."

On Jan. 19, the Screen Actors Guild said that the SAG-AFTRA board voted “overwhelmingly” that there is probable cause that Trump violated its guidelines for membership. The charges, the guild said, are for Trump’s role in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, “and in sustaining a reckless campaign of misinformation aimed at discrediting and ultimately threatening the safety of journalists, many of whom are SAG-AFTRA members.”

In his letter to Carteris, Trump notes he's helped out cable news a great deal "and created thousands of jobs at networks such as MSDNC and Fake News CNN, among many others." Meanwhile, he writes, the union has a "dismal record" and has "done little for its members" aside from collecting membership dues and "promoting dangerous un-American policies and ideas."

Trump ended his letter by writing: "I no longer wish to be associated with your union. As such, this letter is to inform you of my immediate resignation from SAG-AFTRA. You have done nothing for me."

The actors' guild responded to Trump's letter.

"Thank you," Carteris and National Executive Director David White said in a statement.

SAG-AFTRA confirmed its general counsel personally authenticated the letter with Trump's team.
