Obviously, Joe Biden served as Barack Obama’s vice president during his two terms, and while they remain close associates, the only one running the White House is Joe Biden. But that’s not exactly what Donald Trump is saying. “It’s never been worse than it is now under crooked Joe Biden and, frankly, his boss, Barack Hussein Obama,” the former president said at a New Hampshire campaign stop on Monday. “I think it’s his boss.”

Donald Trump is leaning into a 2020 conspiracy video that circulated on the internet with Barack Obama joking on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show about having a White House “stand-in with an earpiece so he could deliver lines and stay out of the spotlight,” according to NBC News. It’s no secret that former presidents, both Republican and Democrat, offer solicited advice to the current president, but the notion that Joe Biden is stepping aside so Barack Obama can make decisions is absurd. Of course, that isn’t stopping Donald Trump from spreading rumors.
