Donald Trump Jr Gloats After Eric Schneiderman Resignation

Donald Trump Jr. gloated on Twitter after New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman resigned from his position after sexual misconduct accusations surfaced against him on Monday evening.

The reporting by Ronan Farrow and Jane Mayer in the New Yorker detailed several graphic accounts of Schneiderman choking and threatening women he had been romantically involved with.

In the piece, Schneiderman denied any claim of wrongdoing and said the only thing he was guilty of was some consensual role-playing.

“In the privacy of intimate relationships, I have engaged in role-playing and other consensual sexual activity. I have not assaulted anyone. I have never engaged in nonconsensual sex, which is a line I would not cross,” Schneiderman told the New Yorker.

The 63-year-old Schneiderman has positioned himself in recent months as a champion of the #MeToo movement. In February, he filed a civil rights lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein and the Weinstein Company, and in a series of tweets, he lauded the very reporting which was the cause of his demise.

On Twitter, Trump Jr. — in the vein of his father — wrote a string of posts that mocked the outgoing attorney general.

“Hey Eric, It’s not ‘role play’ if only one of you is in on it,” he wrote.

Trump Jr. continued by retweeting his father’s prediction in 2013 that Schneiderman was a “crook”

Trump Jr. continued by mocking old tweets from Schneiderman, who professed his commitment to victims of sexual assault.

Kellyanne Conway chimed in as well.
