Donald Trump Jr. opened up his father’s rally in El Paso, Texas, on Monday night, and after noticing some young people in the crowd, made a comment that has caused a bit of a stir.
“I love seeing some young conservatives, because I know it’s not easy,” Trump Jr. said. “Keep up that fight, bring it to your schools. You don’t have to be indoctrinated by these loser teachers that are trying to sell you on socialism from birth. You don’t have to do it. Because you can think for yourselves, they can’t.”
On Twitter, commenters including comedian Sarah Silverman questioned Trump Jr.’s message.

The only teachers worthy of any criticism are those that had him as a student RT Donald Trump Jr. claims “loser teachers” indoctrinate children into socialism “from birth.” https://t.co/8B8kogJB8N via @HuffPostPol

Donald Trump Jr. has got to be the biggest idiot to ever walk the Earth. Clearly he’s angry at #LoserTeachers bc no matter how hard they tried, his teachers could never teach him basic logic. https://t.co/ce5sbo2bOh

Teachers took the comments from President Trump’s son a little more personally.
“You don’t have to be indoctrinated by these loser teachers trying to sell you on socialism from birth.”
THIS teacher does everything she can to create empathetic citizens who are capable of making informed decisions in a global society. I’m offended by Donald Trump Jr.

Privately educated Donald Trump Jr. call teachers “losers”. This guy doesn’t know a thing about the day and life of teachers and students. I am one of those #LoserTeachers who supports equality, kindness and compassion. #HigherEd https://t.co/PGP9DJUh0q

I love that Donald Trump jr. criticized teachers.
I would love to see him handle a class of ninth graders on the first day of school.
I got criticized for having a PhD and teaching high school but I bet he couldn’t use all his millions to control 45 students.

Others disagreed, and some found Trump Jr.’s statements more presidential than offensive.
Don Jr. was great!

Exactly! They all want “free thinkers”…as long as they think like they’re told.

Knows exactly what he’s doing. Real issue is Profs promoting socialism through university programs. No one wants to discuss this. Jr. Calls them teachers and watch how offended the Profs get… everyone is talking about it! Issue exposure…Trump wins!
