Donald Trump Goes On Angry Rant About ‘Bloodbath’ Comment Being Misunderstood Amid Criticism

Donald Trump has fired back at Democrats after they criticized him for his bloodbath comment at the Ohio rally.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, he said his words were taken out of context before explaining what he was addressing. In the past, the former president made controversial remarks that also went viral on social media.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump addressed the criticism he's been facing for his remarks at a rally, where he mentioned there would be a "bloodbath" if he loses the upcoming presidential election.

The ex-president argued that his critics intentionally twisted his words to make him look bad, adding that his comment was actually about President Joe Biden's allegedly damaging policies on the automobile industry.

"The Fake News Media and their Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation, pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH, even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden, which are killing the automobile industry," Trump said, per The Hill.

Donald Trump Says Those He Addressed Understood What He Meant

Trump also mentioned that those he addressed in his comment, specifically the United Auto Workers, understood his intent. He then emphasized that his re-election was crucial for reviving the automobile industry.

"The United Auto Workers, but not their leadership, fully understand what I mean," the billionaire mogul continued his tirade.

He added: "With the Electric Car Mandate being pushed by Biden, there soon won't be any cars made in the USA – UNLESS I'M ELECTED PRESIDENT, IN WHICH CASE AUTO MANUFACTURING WILL THRIVE LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!!"

The Ex-President's 'Bloodbath' Remark Went Viral On Social Media

Trump's "bloodbath" remark gained rapid attention following his rally in Ohio on Saturday, during which he talked about imposing a "100 percent tariff" on every car imported from China and sold in the United States.

"We're going to put a 100 percent tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you're not going to be able to sell those cars if I get elected," Trump told the crowd at the time. He added, "Now, if I don't get elected, it's going to be a blood bath for the country; that'll be the least of it. But they're not going to sell those cars. They're building massive factories."

He later made another ominous prediction: "If this election isn't won, I'm not sure that you'll ever have another election in this country."

How Democrats Reacted To Donald Trump's 'Blood Bath' Comment

President Biden led the pack of those who criticized Trump for the "blood bath" comment.

"It's clear this guy wants another January 6. But the American people are going to give him another resounding electoral defeat this November," Biden wrote on X (formerly Twitter), quoting a clip from the Ohio rally.

James Singer, a spokesman for Biden's campaign, also shared a similar opinion, claiming that Trump has an affection for violence.

He said, per NBC, "[Trump] wants another January 6, but the American people are going to give him another electoral defeat this November because they continue to reject his extremism, his affection for violence, and his thirst for revenge."

The January 6 date referenced the Capitol Insurrection, of which Trump is still embroiled in several legal cases with regard to his role in triggering the incident.

The Former President Has Made Multiple Controversial Remarks In The Past

In the past, Trump has made controversial remarks, with quite a number coming up last year as he began his re-election bid, per The Guardian.

During his primary campaign in September, he pledged to "root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country."

That same month, while discussing immigration with the National Pulse, Trump made a controversial comment about the influx of immigrants into the country.

"Nobody has ever seen anything like we're witnessing right now … It's poisoning the blood of our country," he said at the time.

Then, in November, he seemingly promised to use presidential powers to go after his enemies during an interview with the Spanish-language television network Univision.

He said, "If I happen to be president and I see somebody who's doing well and beating me very badly, I say go down and indict them, mostly they would be out of business. They'd be out. They'd be out of the election."
