Donald Trump Calls Hillary Clinton 'Grossly Incompetent' and Promises Supporters He's 'Going to Get Rid of That Crooked Woman'

Donald Trump, in tones that have veered from feisty to "muted" in the two days since his debate performance against Hillary Clinton, is labeling the former secretary of state "grossly incompetent" and promising his supporters he won't just defeat his Democrat opponent at the polls on Nov. 8, he will "get rid of that crooked woman."

On Wednesday, the GOP nominee spoke during a campaign event at the Polish National Alliance, using what the Chicago Tribune described as "very muted if not hushed tones." He told the crowd of about 200 voters: "We're going to have a Trump administration that's going to get things done, that's going to lower taxes. Hillary Clinton, who I happen to believe is grossly incompetent, she's going to raise taxes."

"I happen to believe that she'd be very, very bad for our country," he continued. "I think it would be worse than four more years of Obama. It would actually be worse and it won't be great for the people you're representing and it won't be great for the people of our country because we have a chance to really make America great again."

"Whether it's tax, whether it's trade, whether it's regulation, there's so many different things we're going to do. But we're going to spur growth and we're going to spur growth in the right direction, not the wrong direction," he said, adding that he would be "the greatest president for jobs that God ever created."

NBC Chicago reports that the "uncharacteristically low-tempoed speech ... fueled further questions about Trump's health" following his infamous case of the sniffles at Monday night's debate. Trump's campaign said he does not have a cold and is feeling "just fine," NBC Chicago said.

Trump struck a feistier tone at a campaign event in Melbourne, Florida, on Tuesday night, where he doubled down on the attacks he made against his opponent during the first presidential debate.

Calling Clinton "virtually incompetent, certainly as secretary of state," he told the crowd, "We're going to get rid of that crooked woman."

"She's a crooked woman," he added. "She's a very, very dishonest woman."

Trump also stood by his comments on two of the most contested issues from Monday's debate – one, in which he claimed he did not support the war in Iraq and another in which he insisted the stop-and-frisk practice in N.Y.C was not ruled unconstitutional in 2013.

There are conflictingreports as to whether or not Trump publicly opposed the war before it began. Asked whether he supported an Iraq invasion in a 2002 interview with Howard Stern, Trump said, "Yeah, I guess so; I wish the first time it was done correctly."

Federal Judge Shira Scheindlin ruled New York's version of stop-and-frisk unconstitutional in 2013.

Closing the event, Trump reiterated all of his major campaign proposals.

"I am going to lower your taxes by a lot," he said. "I'm going to eliminate every unnecessary and costly regulation. We're going to repeal and replace Obamacare. We're going to unleash American energy. We're going to end illegal and very dangerous immigration. We're going to keep radical Islamic terrorists the hell out of our country. We're going to save your Second Amendment. We are going to support the men and women of law enforcement. And we're going to appoint justices to the supreme court who will uphold and defend the constitution of the United States. We will rebuild our roads, our bridges, our tunnels, highways, airports, schools, hospitals. We will rebuild our country and we are going to put a lot of people to work."
