Donald Glover Can’t Look Away from Kanye’s Twitter Storm in “SNL” Sketch: Watch

It’s not A Quiet Place—it’s A Kanye Place

Donald Glover addressed Kanye West’s recent tweets when he hosted “Saturday Night Live” last night. In the sketch, Glover and friends hide from a monster who responds to loud sounds (like in John Krasinski’s new horror film A Quiet Place), but they have trouble being quiet once they see Kanye’s Twitter activity. Aidy Bryant’s character has an especially strong reaction to Kanye’s lyric “poopity-scoop” from his new song “Lift Yourself.” Watch the sketch below.

Before hosting and performing as musical guest on “SNL,” Glover shared a new song as Childish Gambino, “This is America.” It debuted with a Hiro Murai-directed music video. In the episode, he performed “This Is America,” as well as another new song called “Saturday.” Daniel Kaluuya and Zoë Kravitz introduced the respective musical performances. Glover opened the show with a musical monologue. He also appeared in multiple sketches about Kanye, Migos, and more.

“This Is America” marks his first new music since 2016’s “Awaken, My Love!” Glover will embark on a tour with Rae Sremmurd and Vince Staples later this fall.
