‘You Don’t Even Think About How Bad It Is Before It’s Too Late,’ Says Woman Who Claims She Was Conned

Cecilie says that Simon – the man of her dreams – became her worst nightmare after she claims he told her his business dealings had made him a target of dangerous people. She claims he conned her into giving him access to her credit cards and bilked her out of more than $200,000. “When you’re first in this and it just becomes more and more – and more. You don’t even think about how bad it is before it’s too late,” says Cecilie. Cecilie and another woman named Pernilla both claim that Simon told them he was the CEO of a diamond company but was a scammer who defrauded them and multiple other women out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Simon vehemently denies the allegations and insists he is not a con artist. He has not been charged with any crimes against either woman. Simon, Cecilie, and Pernilla are all featured in the documentary, The Tinder Swindler, streaming now on Netflix.
