Don Lemon jests that the 'very, very intense' Chris Cuomo eats 'steroids and tequila'

So, it's not keto?

Don Lemon kidded on Tuesday night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that his network colleague Chris Cuomo, who got into a very heated altercation after being called "Fredo" as seen in a video that went viral last month, had a rather interesting diet.

Prompted by Kimmel who wondered if the "Cuomo Prime Time" host eats "just raw meat" using "his hands," Lemon was quick with a comical response.

"Besides steroids?" Lemon replied. "I'm kidding, Chris."

"Wait a minute, maybe I'm not..." he continued, before adding, "Besides steroids and tequila..."

"He's a very intense guy, it seems like," Kimmel assessed.

"And he's huge," said Lemon. "He's very, very intense."

"He's a big, strong, scary-ish guy," said Kimmel.

"Yeah," Lemon agreed, adding, "It doesn't mean that much to me."

The "CNN Tonight" host said the two spend time together.

"We're actually really good friends. People don't believe that we are, but we actually are," he said of his relationship with Cuomo. "We go fishing. We hang out on the weekends."

Lemon said his mom, an avid CNN-watcher, believes Cuomo is "like the brother (Lemon) never had."

Yes, Cuomo has made quite the impression on Lemon's mother.

"I think Chris is actually her favorite (CNN anchor) because Chris doesn't talk back," Lemon told Kimmel. "She and I get into mom-son arguments, like, 'Mom, why'd you do that?' or whatever. But Chris just loves her."

Cuomo was much less favorable of the man who disparaged him as "Fredo," a term from the 1972 film "The Godfather," referring to Fredo Corleone, who Cuomo described as "a weak brother."

Cuomo deemed it a racist slur toward Italians, comparing it to the N-word.

"Punk (expletive) from the right call me 'Fredo.' My name is Chris Cuomo. I’m an anchor on CNN," the television host said during the NSFW video that was shared on Twitter.

As the conversation escalated, Cuomo added: "I’ll (expletive) ruin your (expletive). I’ll (expletive) throw you down these stairs like a (expletive) punk … you’re gonna call me Fredo, take a (expletive) swing?"

CNN offered support for Cuomo following the video's release, claiming that the anchor was targeted in an "orchestrated setup."

"Chris Cuomo defended himself when he was verbally attacked with the use of an ethnic slur," CNN Vice President of Communications Matt Dornic tweeted. "We completely support him."
