Domino's offers $25K snow plowing grants to ensure safe, hot delivery

When it is cold and snowy outside, Domino’s wants to make sure customers can still get their pizza.

For the first time, Domino’s announced this week that they will offer grants of $25,000 to select cities to plow snow and ensure carryout pizza delivery.

The Ann Arbor-based pizza is awarding a total of $500,000 in snow plowing grants spread across 20 cities.

“At Domino's, we've made delivery cars with warming ovens built in, paved roads to get your pizza home hot and in perfect condition, and offered pizza insurance for when anything goes awry,” said Joe Jordan, Domino’s president of U.S. and global services. "To us, nothing should stand in the way of getting a delicious pizza, including snowy, cold weather. So yes — you heard it right: a pizza company is actually helping to plow roads.”

And to help decide which cities receive a grant, Domino’s needs your help.

The pizza chain is calling for help choosing a city and seeking nominations.

To submit a town for consideration, visit plowingforpizza.com now until Jan. 21, 2024. You can submit one entry per email address nominating the Zip code of your hometown.

Domino’s will select towns and award grants on a rolling basis throughout the program during the winter season. Announcements of awardees will be as soon as mid-January, according to a news release.

The communities selected for snow plowing grants also receive a winter-themed Domino’s Plowing for Pizza kit that includes winter hats, scarves, a snow measuring stick and sign, vehicle magnets, and $200 in Domino’s gift cards.

Domino’s will list the chosen cities on its Plowing for Pizza website.

To kick off the campaign and ahead of open nominations, Domino’s has already worked with and offered grants to these cities, all known for high levels of snowfall: Erie, Pennsylvania; Marquette, Michigan; and Manhattan, Montana.
