Dominik Mysterio: I’m The Greatest Luchador And NXT North American Champion Ever

Dominik Mysterio, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, says he is the greatest luchador of all time.

On the August 8 episode of WWE NXT, “Dirty Dom” defended the NXT North American Championship against Dragon Lee. Ahead of the bout, Rey called him the future of Lucha Libre. Despite Rey’s presence, Lee came up short, as Rhea Ripley interfered and helped Dominik win. Lyra Valkyria came to the ring and helped Lee and Rey send Rhea and Dominik running.

In an NXT Digital Exclusive, Dominik Mysterio commented on his victory.

“I am the greatest luchador that has ever lived,” Dominik Mysterio said. “I am the greatest NXT North American Champion ever, and I beat Dragon Lee tonight with my deadbeat dad by his side. So I’m the greatest NXT North American Champion ever.”

Ripley was also part of the interview, and she made it clear that Valkyria’s actions frustrated her.

“Lyra Valkyria? You’re kidding me right now. First you disrespect my Latino heat, and then you disrespect Mami herself by bringing up Lyra Valkyria. Really? What’s your name again? Kelly? I don’t like you. As for Lyra Valkyria, I came here. I told everyone she was a bad-ass, I believed in her, I gave her some advice. I told her what to do.

“What does she do? She disrespects me. She disrespects my Latino heat. You don’t want to make Mami mad, and that’s exactly what she’s done.”
