Dominican Actress Yovanna Ventura Signs With Vision

EXCLUSIVE: Vision Entertainment has signed Dominican social media personality and actress Yovanna Ventura, whose credits include Tales (BET) and mini-series The New Edition Story. Ventura, who has amassed 11 million followers across social platforms has also appeared on screen alongside singers Maluma and Tyga. Ventura continues to be repped by her manager Louie Diaz of Social Adam LLC alongside Vision Entertainment point managers John Alcaraz (Los Angeles), Julia Watkinson (New York), and Ximena Bustani (Mexico City). “Given Yovanna’s multi-cultural background and multi-hyphenatedT talent, we are uniquely positioned to provide a 360 level of representation for her. Göteborg Unveils TV Drama Nominees

Writers on shows from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden have been nominated for the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize at next month’s Göteborg Film Festival. The scribes on Finland’s Estonia, Iceland’s Descendants, Sweden’s Painkiller, Norway’s Power Play and Denmark’s Prisoner are up for the prize, which pays out NOK 200,000 ($19,000). The shows vary in theme from a hard-hitting jail series to a retelling of the tragic Estonia ferry sinking to Sweden’s entry about a devoted mum unwillingly taking part in her daughter’s art project. The 2024 winner(s) will be announced at an award ceremony on the evening of January 30. Last year’s winner was writer Kenneth Karlstad for the Norwegian drama Kids in Crime. 

Dan Snow Heads Out On Season 2 Of Channel 5’s ‘World’s Greatest Discoveries’

TV historian Dan Snow is is making a second season of The World’s Greatest Discoveries for Paramount UK network Channel 5. The 4 x 90-minute strand of film specials will see the History Hit founder exploring Stonehenge, Atlantis, the Terracotta Army and Machu Picchu. In each episode, Snow explores the incredible story of these finds; from the breath-taking high-altitude moment of discovery of Machu Picchu to diving underwater in search of the origins of the story of Atlantis. “From Asia to South America I have been lucky enough to see sites I dreamed about as a child,” said Snow. “I didn’t just explore them, but also their rich stories of discovery. It’s been a once in a lifetime experience.” Series will be directed by Nick Gillam Smith, Jess Reid, Tamsin Graham and Mark Edger.
