Dominic Fike's return to season 3 of Euphoria is unclear, as the actor said “I don’t really talk to them anymore” following a negative experience with the show-provided “sober coach.”

On the hit HBO drama, Fike played Elliot, a drug addicted teen who memorably was introduced to the cast by doing drugs with Rue (Zendaya) in the bathroom at a party. And in his upcoming film, LIttle Death — which is playing at the Sundance Film Festival — Fike again shares the screen with drugs.

“I am a pretty big drug addict myself, believe it or not,” Fike, 28, said at Sundance’s Variety studio presented by Audible.

“When I was on Euphoria, they kind of just gave me like, a coach who would just talk to you. It was whatever. It was just some random lady,” he said, adding that the director of Little Death, Jack Bergert, is “one of my best friends so it made it a lot easier, obviously.”

On Euphoria, however, he says his coach was “just like, ‘Don’t do drugs!’”

She was “just a random lady that I’d never relate to,” he continued. “We have nothing in common. We didn’t come from the same places or the same problems. It was hard to take advice from someone like that or give a s—t.”

Fike, who is also a musician, previously spoke about quitting “cigarettes, drugs, sex and alcohol' to improve his live performances. “I had to get sober to do it,” he said.

Although his return to Euphoria is up in the air, Fike said it “would be dope” to reprise his role of Elliot.

Fike has shared that he was almost fired from Euphoria for his drug use, admitting that he’d filmed scenes while high.

"I was reprimanded for it. I almost, you know, got kicked off the show.... They were like, 'Bro, you cannot be doing this.'"

But he’d also spoken positively about his character’s return, telling Apple Music's Zane Lowe that the upcoming season is "gonna be sick."

"I have a better dynamic with everybody," he said. "I mean, well, I don't know. Almost everybody," seemingly referring to his breakup with Euphoria costar Hunter Schafer.

Despite their split, he was optimistic the two could still work together.

"I think it'll be fine," he'd said. "We're all adults, kind of. I'm trying."

But now, although Fike told Variety “that’d be dope” to return to the show, he added, “Who knows? I got stuff to do.”
