Dolly Parton on Why She Used to Tailor Her Look ‘After the Town Trollop’

Dolly Parton visited The Tonight Show, where the country music legend talked about the follow-up to her successful 2015 TV movie Coat of Many Colors. The new project is called Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, and will debut on November 30th.

Parton plays a small role in the new film, a role based on a young woman she’d seen as a child growing up in Sevierville, Tenn. Parton described the role as only she can:

“I get to play a little part in the movie because when I was little, I used to tailor my look after the town trollop.”

Dolly had a great explanation for why she wanted to get this look.

“I thought she was the most beautiful thing. She had all this makeup and hair and tight clothes and everything I wanted, so it impressed me.”
