Dog day afternoon: MJ's hosting pet adoption event for National Dog Day

From 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 (weather permitting), MJ's Restaurant Bar & Grill in Bayville will play host to a family- and dog-friendly Dog Adoption Day.

Spend time with some adorable, adoptable pups and don't forget to bring yours for some socialization.

"I'd like to [invite] everyone and anyone whom is interested in spending an incredible afternoon with amazing dogs waiting to be adopted," David Lance DeLisa, entertainment and creative director of MJ's Restaurants said. Enjoy "great live music [by The Hashtags], delicious food and Tito's "The Vodka for Dog People" pint specials ($8)."

Expect to meet plenty of cuties like Spirit, a unique-looking 2-year-old Shepherd mix.

“[Spirit] loves walks, car rides, going on adventures, playing fetch, getting lots of attention, and new friends,” a statement from Rescue Ridge said about the pup who takes time to trust, but rewards it with “lots of love and affection.”
