The seventh and final season of "The Big Bang Theory" prequel series airs Thursday, Feb. 15. The sitcom follows a younger version of Jim Parsons's character, Sheldon Cooper, a boy genius navigating the late '80s and early '90s.
The show stars Iain Armitage as the titular Sheldon Cooper. It also stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord and Parsons as the voice of Sheldon.

Will there be a season 8 of 'Young Sheldon'?
Despite the popularity of "Young Sheldon," the coming-of-age sitcom, the No. 1 comedy for CBS since 2017, was not renewed for an eighth season, the network announced in November 2023.
"We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and giving it a proper sendoff with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy," Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement.
Why is 'Young Sheldon' ending?
Although CBS and the show's creators have not explicitly stated a reason for the show's cancellation, Screen Rant theorizes that the series likely ended due to several factors.
The website reports that the established canon in "The Big Bang Theory" forces the prequel series to have a predetermined end date when Sheldon goes to college. Other possible reasons for the cancellation include a shift in focus from the original premise, younger actors aging out of their roles, another spin-off series in development, and the desire to avoid the inevitable storyline of Sheldon's father's affair and death.
