What Does Stacey Esterly Say Was First Thing Husband Kevin Said To Her After He Was Put In Jail For Running Away With 16-Year-Old?

In March 2018, Kevin Esterly was arrested and charged with interfering with the custody of a child when it was discovered that he ran away from Pennsylvania to Mexico with his daughter’s 16-year-old best friend, Amy Yu. According to police, the father of four had been carrying on a secret relationship with Yu, whom he considered to be a “fifth” daughter, for months.

Esterly’s estranged wife, Stacey, claims that in the months leading up to Kevin and Amy’s trip, she noticed some unusual behavior between her husband and the teen, who called the couple “Mom” and “Dad,” but she says she never suspected the two were involved in a relationship.

Stacey, who says she’s filed for divorce, recalls the first conversation she had with her husband since he’s been in jail.

“He said, ‘Thank you for accepting my call,’” Stacey tells Dr. Phil in an exclusive interview airing Thursday. “He never once apologized, never once, you know, said he was sorry. All he said was when he gets out he’ll explain the whole story.”

Stacey also shares how Kevin and Amy reportedly financed their trip, which she says left her penniless. And, what does she want to see happen to the man she called husband for almost 14 years?
