If you are looking for your "American Idol" fix you'll have to wait until the weekend.

The popular singing competition has whittled down the number of contestants down to five competing for the title of 2024 American Idol, and has also cut the television dates to just Sunday nights. The series aired on Mondays earlier in the season. Beginning on March 31 with Hollywood Week, "American Idol" aired on both Sunday and Monday nights. But now there are only two episodes left.

Here's when you can watch the next episode and what has happened in season 22 so far.

When does 'American Idol' 2024 come back?

The next "American Idol" air date is Sunday, May 12 at 7 p.m. CT/ 8 p.m. ET on ABC. This weeks theme, Disney night.

The season finale for "American Idol" is two weeks away and will air on Sunday, May 16 at 7 p.m. CT/ 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Indio native Abi Carter has had a memorable "American Idol" journey thus far.

Following her standout audition — during which judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan were left pondering if they were looking at the show's next winner — the 21-year-old Carter has made it through every step of the competition, garnering more fans and gaining momentum to get closer toward the finish line. She is currently in the top 5 following her latest performance of Fall Out Boy's "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)" and Adele's "Hello."
