Does Kid Cudi Have An Issue With Donald Glover? Fans Think So

Kid Cudi’s response to potentially working with Donald Glover has people speculating he has an issue with him. On Wednesday (Feb. 21), a fan posed a question to X/Twitter. The account expressed a desire to hear the Cleveland rapper alongside Childish Gambino on a track. They even suggested that they set aside an official release date for their song, “Warlords,” which originally leaked in 2020.

“You and Gambino gotta work on something. Whether it’s TV, movies, or music, we’d love to see/hear it! Your guys’ song ‘Warlords’ needs an official release,” the account typed.

However, Kid Cudi was less enthusiastic about working with Gambino. “I’m Cool,” Cudi shot back. Naturally, fans of both artists began bickering almost immediately over the assumed issue between the two.

Many comments pointed to Cudi’s infamous history of having issues with a multitude of artists ranging from Drake and Kanye West to Lupe Fiasco and Wale. Other comments attempted to be more understanding and not read too much into the situation.

“Bro doesn’t like anybody and wonders why he’s considered niche,” an account xweeted. “I won’t even assume anything here… But two of the alternative rap eras greatest not working together truly feels like a missing piece in that part of the culture. The personal standing of the relationship isn’t for us to say though,” another fan expressed.

“Cudi always got beef with someone, but when people are mean to him it’s a problem. This is why no one [f**k with] Cudi from the industry and why he’s a** now,” someone declared. “Ni**as in the replies dragging Cudi, acting like he said ‘F**k that ni**a’ or something. When all he said was he’s cool, with no context. It probably don’t even mean sh*t. Like, do you ni**as wake up slow???” The general consensus seems to be, “We don’t know if they have issues or not.”

And while there is uncertainty behind what’s going on, here is what we do know about Cudi and Glover’s shared history. As previously stated, Kid Cudi and Donald Glover have an unreleased track together called “Warlords.” Glover, as Childish Gambino, also opened up for the INSANO musician early in his career.

The Mr. & Mrs. Smith actor opened up about this moment during a 2023 interview with GQ. He told the publication that the crowd booed him as he attempted to get through his show. “At the time, I had a full band and a violinist,” he recalled. “I just kept turning to the band and telling them, ‘Next song! Next song!’ I put on a really intense show through the boos.”

Other than that, there doesn’t seem to be anything else indicating that it’s “on sight” type of time between Cudder and Bino. But, only time will tell.
