Spoilers for Hocus Pocus 2 below!

Halloween season is finally (!!) here once again, but this year is extra spooktacular. After nearly 30 years, the iconic Sanderson Sisters have returned to Salem, Massachusetts, ready to wreak havoc and seek revenge on their enemies all over again.

On September 30, Hocus Pocus 2 debuted on Disney+, bringing back OGs Winifred (Bette Midler), Mary (Kathy Najimy), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and zombie Billy Butcherson (Doug Jones). The sequel introduces a new trio of Salem teenagers, as well — Becca (Whitney Peak), Izzy (Belissa Escobedo), and Cassie (Lilia Buckingham), who light the Black Flame Candle on Halloween night and accidentally resurrect the Sanderson witches.

Hocus Pocus 2 delivered all that we loved from the 1993 original — bewitching musical performances, Winifred’s beloved spell book, even revamped flying devices, to name a few. However, there’s one element in particular that we simply cannot stop thinking about.

After the Sanderson sisters step up to the mic and perform a spirited rendition of “The Witches Are Back,” the credits roll. But then, once you think it’s wrapped, we’re back in Gilbert’s magic shop (aka the former cottage of Winifred, Mary, and Sarah). His black cat (who some think might be Thackery Binx) jumps onto a bookshelf, landing next to a wooden box labeled “B.F. Candle #2.”

Of course, “B.F. Candle” must stand for “Black Flame Candle.” The scene doesn’t reveal much else, and cuts out after the camera pans back to the cat’s face for a moment. Although the Sanderson sisters all returned to their otherworldly realm at the end of Hocus Pocus 2, this post-credits scene seems to tease their return.

So, could there possibly be a Hocus Pocus 3?! We don’t know for sure yet. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly on September 13, Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker conveyed that the sequel could be the final installment. But they didn’t completely shut down the idea of a third movie.

“I feel like we’re done. We’ve pulled every story you could pull out of this. I guess, never say never, but I feel grateful that we got to do it again,” Najimy said. “I don’t know that there are plans for a third one, but I know fans are dedicated to this film.”

There is the possibility that a third film could center on some of the new characters we met in Hocus Pocus 2, such as new witch Becca and her coven, or even the Witch Mother (Hannah Waddingham), who young Winifred, Mary, and Sarah meet in the forests of Salem in 1653.

But in the meantime, we’re more than happy to see the sisters return once more. Hocus Pocus 2 is streaming now on Disney+.
