Want to know what Aaron Rodgers is like during practice?

Pretty soon, New York Jets fans won't be kept in the dark like the quarterback during a winter retreat.

The New York Jets got the call to be on this year's version of Hard Knocks on HBO.

It's an interesting pick. The Jets were an improved team last year, and should be even better this year after adding one of the best quarterbacks in the game.

Hard Knocks, which airs on HBO and will stream on MAX, has been one of the most popular shows each year. It signals the start of the NFL season and it focuses on training camp and the preseason.

Preseason football is brutal, but Hard Knocks gives you the storylines surrounding the team. It also helps you get to know stars better and introduces you to the lesser lights battling it out for a spot on the team.

When does Hard Knocks start?

The first episode of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets will air Aug. 8 at 10 p.m. on HBO. It will be shown again throughout the week on HBOs collection of stations. Episode 2 will air Aug. 15 at 10 p.m.

This marks the second time the Jets were featured on the show. They were also on in 2010 when Rex Ryan was the coach and Mark Sanchez was the quarterback.

Other teams that have been on multiple seasons were the Dallas Cowboys (2002, 2008 and 2021), the Cincinnati Bengals (2009, 2013) and the Los Angeles Rams (2020). The series began in 2001 with the Baltimore Ravens.

According to an NFL.com article from 2013, "all organizations will be eligible with the exception of those that have a first-year head coach; teams that have made the playoffs in at least one of the last two seasons; and teams that have participated in the previous 10 seasons."

Possible top storylines for 'Hard Knocks' on HBO

New quarterback

The Jets were on the rise last year, but their biggest weakness was at quarterback. They brought in one of the biggest names in the game to play one of the most important positions in pro sports. Hard Knocks could give us a better look at the misunderstood signal caller that few outside Pat McAfee gets. It’ll be interesting to see how he deals with former starter Zach Wilson, who is now the backup.

Who will be the Jets running back?

The Jets have a talented backfield.

Breece Hall tore his ACL last season, but he was finding a lot of success, as was second-year running back Michael Carter, who was a dynamic playmaker as a rookie. But Delvin Cook is a free agent and he's looking to sign there.

The star running back was one of the best in the game while playing for the Vikings. Will he be the starter? Or will the Jets sign or trade a different star tailback?

Is Nathaniel Hacket a good coach?

Is Nathaniel Hackett, former coach of the Denver Broncos as dumb as Sean Payton thinks he is? Hackett, now the offensive coordinator for the Jets, has received nothing but praise by his Jets players and coaches, but was the coach for Denver's disaster last year.

Payton told the USA Today that Hackett's time in Denver "might have been one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL. That’s how bad it was."

We’ll be the judge, Sean. Just give us a couple of episodes.
