Following the Dec. 2 Big Bang event with Eminem, Fortnite has come out with Chapter 5 Season 1 of Battle Royale with a new society and sights.

Fortnite was released in 2017 by Epic Games. The way it works is that 100 players compete in head-to-head mortal combat to be the last one standing.

The game begins with players skydiving onto an island where they are given an ax and must look for other weapons while avoiding an electrical storm.

As players continue on and get eliminated, the field of play gets smaller and updates go out with how each person was killed. There are three different modes to play in including solo, duo or squad mode – which allows you to play as a team.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 will be called Underground and will include Peter Griffin from “Family Guy.”

When does Fortnite Chapter 5 start?

Fortnite Battle Royale’s Chapter 5 Season 1: Underground went live in the morning of Sunday, Dec. 3.

What’s new in Chapter 5 Fortnite?

A lot of new locations have been added to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 including:

  • Ritzy Riviera marina.

  • The abandoned Rebel’s Roost mansion.

  • The Hazy Hillside village includes boreal tundra and snow biomes.

  • The Grand Glacier Hotel.

You'll encounter five bosses — Oscar, Nisha, Montague, Valeria and Peter Griffin from “Family Guy” — who will drop a Society Medallion once they are defeated. If you keep a medallion in your inventory, your shield will regenerate over time. The more Society Medallions you have in your inventory, the more your shield will regenerate with every tick

However, if you have a Society Medallion, you will be marked on opponents’ maps and the more medallions you have, the more specific the radius of your exact location becomes, according to a Fortnite press release.

There will be new cars in Chapter 5 and customizations. Cars are built with three Locker items: Bodies, Decals and Wheels. All players will have the OEM Wheels from Rocket League in their Locker. Car Bodies, Decals and Wheels give no competitive advantage.

Car Bodies will be available in the Fortnite Shop through bundles with other Car items, there’s also a Car Body in the Battle Pass. You can get the Grandeur Trailsmasher SUV or unlock the Scorpion Car Body with the Big Bang Battle Pass.
