Does Deadpool and Wolverine Feature Original Toad Actor From 2000 X-Men Movie?

Toad is making an appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine, confirms original Toad actor Ray Park.

Unless, you know, he’s being sarcastic.

Fans speculated the long-tongued mutant would show up in Marvel’s summer blockbuster after spotting a blurry, Toad-looking figure in the latest trailer.

However, the shot was zoomed out and lasted less than a second. That’s why Park took to Instagram to clear up the confusion. Or not, as the case may be.

“I am [in #DeadpoolAndWolverine] lol must have kidnapped me in my sleep lol,” Park writes in a reply. The way it's worded is ambiguous and can be read two ways.

There’s every chance he’s joking, and that he doesn’t really appear, but if he does, it’s in keeping with the film which looks stuffed with cameos.

If true it's a surprising bit of casting given the actor, who also plays Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, is now 49. Evan Jonigkeit played a more recent version of the character in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

However, there’s a lot of love for the original Toad, and Park is a cult favourite, not least for his classic exchange with Storm in X-Men.

“Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning?” she asks. “The same thing that happens to everything else.” Then she strikes him with lightning.
